Shop Update // September 2020
We’ve had a busy month and we’re excited to share what we’ve been working on! A new video is in the works, showing the process of building one of our serving trays from start to finish. The little clip above is a teaser from our Saturday shoot.
Erin has also been getting our Petite & English video channels on YouTube and Vimeo up and running. If you'd like to subscribe, here are the links!
Maple Creemees
Now introducing the Maple Creemee Tea Tray! If you haven’t heard of a Maple Creemee you’re not alone. Before moving to Vermont, we would’ve guessed it was a candy you’d find in your grandma’s purse. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that this Vermont specialty is akin to traditional soft serve with the addition of green mountain gold (AKA maple syrup).
Nick was inspired to make a pair of tea trays to commemorate our new favorite summertime / fall treat. Built from solid curly maple, these trays feature mitered joinery with angled splines. They’re finished using a wood bleach which removes the yellow tones naturally found in maple to help achieve that maple creemee look.
A Maynard Desk / Simon Pearce Collaboration
Our Maynard Desk is currently featured on Simon Pearce's website, social media, and emails! Erin styled, shot, and edited these photos as part of a Work From Home series showcasing Simon Pearce's beautiful glassware. You can see them at simonpearce.com.
The Online Shop
Crafted from 100% hardwood, this Walnut version of our serving tray is constructed using half-blind dovetail joinery and is accented with Walnut handles. Now up on the online shop!
Local Lumber
Nick recently met a fellow Vermonter who was selling over 70 black cherry boards all under four feet long. The cherry came from his family farm in Shaftsbury, VT and had been milled back in the 90’s. Since then it’s been stored in this barn for over two decades. Finds like this are gold! This native Vermont hardwood has beautiful color and a ton of character, and will soon be made into a variety of projects both big and small. Stay tuned!
