Shop Update // June in Vermont
We are crawling into summer up here in Vermont. With the warmer weather we’ve been spending more time outside in the garden. Blooming lilacs surround our small patio set all nestled up next to the brick façade and our first-ever bed of summer vegetables. Its been an easy excuse to pack our meal on a serving tray and get out in the sun!
The McIntire Side Table
Named after Samuel McIntire, who is considered to be the godfather of the Federal furniture period. He spent his life in Salem MA, not far from where we lived before our move to VT. This design is a blend of subtle federal and mid century forms. Made from White Oak, it features mortise and tenon and half lapped joinery.

In the Works
The last bit of work on the curly maple dresser is complete! Drawers have been fit, knobs turned, all surfaces have been scraped and sanded. This piece will be heading upstairs to the finish room for its oil bath.
I've been commissioned to build a few plant stands. The design has changed slightly from the original (photo below on the right) but still features half lapped and mortise and tenon joinery. One is being made out of Vermont Cherry and the other from Red Oak.
I've also been working on a new tea tray design. With the same look and feel of our larger serving trays, this smaller version will feature mitered and splined joinery and is perfect for carrying afternoon tea and snacks from the kitchen to wherever.
