Happy February from The Whisker Sisters!
We’ve been enjoying the winter weather, spending some of our free time taking walks in the chilly air and afternoon light. We’ve found that the regular winter storms create a perfect excuse to get in the kitchen and bake! Erin has continued to make loaves of sourdough every week and Nick has begun to navigate the wild world of puff pastry. In the shop, Nick has a few different projects underway including a custom White Oak dining table and a recent order for a Cherry Maynard Desk.
New! The Maynard Coffee Table
The Maynard Coffee Table is a continuation of the Shaker-inspired collection in dedication to Nick’s maternal grandmothers. The perfect blend of form and function, this elegant design is crafted using 100% hardwoods and features mortise and tenon joinery with two dovetailed drawers and concealed pulls.

Erin’s Keepsake Box
Nick made this personalized keepsake box for Erin’s 30th birthday. The entire box was built from one board to ensure matching grain and even color. It features mitered and splined joinery, hand-carved initials, and a sliding tray to hold those smaller treasures. Erin quickly found great use of it and filled it with her growing collection of sewing supplies.
In the Kitchen
How about an afternoon latte with homemade croissants on one of our Walnut serving trays? Don’t mind if I do!
In the works
Nick is building a dining table out of White Oak for our beautiful friend in Quechee, VT. This dense, heavy hardwood has beautiful character, sporting those “tiger stripe” medullary rays.
The top is milled out of quarter-sawn lumber, helping ensure it stays flat while also showing off those rays from one end to the other.
